People who wake up in the middle of the night bathing in sweat should drink tea regularly. It is supposed to reduce nightmares. Feelings of stress are also said to be relieved by the warm drink. This is the result of a Japanese study.
Those who drink lots of green or black tea have up to 50% less nightmares than those who drink tea every now and then. This positive effect is supposed to be caused by theanine, that is found in many tea leaves and reduces feelings of stress or anxiety.
Furthermore it was shown that women are up to 80 percent more sensitive to bad dreams. The same goes for people who go to sleep before midnight or get up before half past five. The scientists haven’t found the reasons yet why that happens.
