Fatty foods increase hunger feeling

Fatty foods won’t give you a feeling of being full very quickly. When you eat fatty foods, you will only feel more hungry.

This is the result of a study done at the University of Cincinnati. The researchers discovered that eating fatty foods increases the feeling of hunger.

By eating fatty foods the amount of the hormone ghrelin increases. This hormone increases the appetite.

Until now it was assumed that the hormone ghrelin was only activated when you had an empty stomach of when you ate too little. But now it has been shown that when you eat fatty foods, your brain get the signal to store these fats. These fats are stored on the belly, the hips and the thighs.

The amount of ghrelin only increases when you eat saturated fats. Unsaturated fats do not active the hunger hormone.
