A strong cup of coffee has more effect on men than on women. This is the result of a study done at the University of Barcelona.
668 Students at the University were examined in this study for the effects of drinking a cup of coffee. The researchers measured the ability to concentrate of the test subjects before and after drinking a cup of coffee.
The measurements were performed in the early and late afternoon. This way the moment of measuring could be excluded as a factor. The measurements showed that caffeine effects your ability to concentrate for a maximum of 45 minutes, but the peek level of concentration was already attained a few minutes after drinking the coffee.
Studies into the effects of caffeine have been conducted before, but never before were the differences in effect on men and women examined. It was previously thought that the effect of caffeine lasted two to three hours.
