The enormous increase of people suffering from obesity is not the result of a less active lifestyle as is often thought. This is the result of a research done at the University of Maastricht en the University of Aberdeen. Measurements show that in the last 25 years people haven’t been using any less energy. According to professor Klaas Westerterp everything points towards that the current obesity epidemic is caused by increased consumption of calories.
