Eggs for breakfast help to lose weight

Two eggs for breakfast seem to help very well when following a weightloss diet. This is explained in a publication in the International Journal of Obesity.

The researchers compared two groups of adults that were following a diet. Both groups followed a low calorie diet. One group ate a bagel for breakfast, the other group ate two eggs. By eating 2 eggs for breakfast they lost more weight than those who ate a bagel for breakfast.

The bagel contained that same amount of calories as the two eggs. Remarkably the group that ate the eggs lost 65 percent more weight than those who took the bagel. Also the group that ate the eggs felt more fit and had more energy than the bagel group.

The researchers also monitored the cholesterol levels in both groups. The cholesterol level in the group that ate the eggs did not increase.
