Women have to exercise a minimum of one hour per day in order to lose weight. That have to do that for five days a week according to American scientists.
At the University of Pittsburgh in the United States researchers have concluded that women have to exercise 55 minutes per day in order to lose 10% of their weight. If they continue to exercise in this way, the lost weight will stay off.
The research was conducted among 200 women for a period of 4 years. They were allowed to consume between 1200 and 1500 calories per day. After six months a large portion of the women had lost 10% of their weight, but three quarters gained the weight back. Only the women who exercised 275 minutes per week, kept off the weight.
The researchers conclude from this research that getting enough exercise is a prerequisite for weight loss. Not consuming too many calories is also important, but dieting only will lead to the infamous jojo effect. For people who want to lose weight and keep the weight off, they have to exercise.
